Flavorful slow cooker carnitas with crispy edges, perfect for tacos. Pork is seasoned, then cooked with garlic, onion, lime juice, orange juice, and broth or beer until tender. After shredding, it's broiled to achieve crispy edges before serving.
1. Combine the seasonings and rub all over the pork. (You can use a premade taco seasoning packet if you don’t want to mix your own! I like siete brand)
2. Place the pork into your slow cooker and top with minced garlic, chopped onion, lime juice, orange juice, and chicken broth or a beer.
3. Cover and cook on low for about 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours
4. Shred meat with two forks. It should fall apart easily.
5. Then place the shredded pork onto a baking sheet and pour a little bit of the sauce on top.
6. Broil for 5-10 minutes until the edges are browned.
7. Serve as you like! I did mine with flour tortillas, avocado, pickled onions, corn, and Cojita cheese.
